During April, reports emerged about AC Milan’s ownership being invested, and they were shortly followed by reports of a ‘mole’ within the club who was revealing the information. Today, a report  suggested that the mole has been ‘fired’.

Questions had arisen to the Milan Prosecutor’s Office about the status of the ownership, and how it had been transferred from the Elliott Group to the new owners, RedBird. In the days that followed, several questions and statements followed, notably that ‘Elliott Group still held a notable influence on the daily proceedings at Milan’.

The next step of the investigation was to identify the root of the investigation, and a report revealed that there was a mole within the club, who was revealed to be Aldo Savi, a financial and administrative director of the club.

Since then, Il Giornale (via Radio Rossonera) have reported that he was ‘fired on the spot’ when it was shown that he had produced a draft reserved for potential Arabic investors, especially considering the moment that the investigation came in.

Ultimately, it serves as another negative talking point for the season, in a season where the negatives have been too common and positives slim and hard to come by.

However, MilanNews reports that in reality there are bureaucratic processes currently underway, which follow the logic of labour law. Thus, these have led Savi to be suspended from his role rather than instantly sacked.
